"Prin Prin Monogatari" was broadcast as a puppet show series from 6pm Monday to Friday for three years from 1979 to 1982, with a total of 656 episodes. The story is about Princess Prin Prin traveling around the world with her friends in search of her undiscovered homeland, and the original storyline, which included unique characters and social satire, became a hot topic.
In "Republic of Acta" (2), Monkey brings a doctor calling himself "the best doctor in the world" to help his friend Bonbon, who has fallen ill after escaping. However, when he finds out that Purinpurin has no ID, he tries to tell on him. Purinpurin tries to convince him that as a doctor, people's lives are more important than rules, but he doesn't listen. However, he says it would be different if he was paid. When Monkey gives him the money, he agrees to treat Bonbon, and he begins to recover. After that, the doctor goes off to a certain place...
In "Republic of Akta" (3), after treating the sick Bonbon, the doctor heads to the home of Colonel Hemler, commander of the Republic of Akta. He receives money and informs the doctor of Prin Prin and the others' whereabouts. Learning that soldiers are coming, Bonbon, who is too sick to move, asks them to let Prin Prin escape at least, but Prin Prin says he cannot leave his friends behind. Prin Prin is captured again. Then the doctor comes back to examine him. Prin Prin confronts him, saying that he must have been an informer.
Hitomi Ishikawa plays the role of Purinpurin, and Akira Kamiya and Osamu Hase also appear in the voice cast.
