On April 16th, model and actress Nako Yabuki updated her Instagram with a visual of Pinoko, the character she will be playing in the musical "Black Jack."
Yabuki, who will be appearing in a musical for the first time, wrote, "I'm nervous even before rehearsals start, but I'll follow in the footsteps of the troupe leader, Masayuki Sakamoto, and all the other cast members and do my best to move forward every day! I'll put my heart and soul into the work so that I can express Osamu Tezuka's unique worldview and create a work that will remain in the hearts of the audience who come to see it. I look forward to seeing you." Comments on the post include, "She's just too cute," "She looks like a doll," and "She's definitely a perfect fit for the role."
The musical "Black Jack" is a stage adaptation of the classic manga by manga artist Osamu Tezuka. Masayuki Sakamoto plays the lead role of Black Jack, the genius surgeon. The musical will run from June 28th to July 13th at IMM THEATER (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo), before moving to Niigata, Nagoya, Hamamatsu, Sapporo, and Hyogo.
