New cuts have been released for the original animated feature film " Paris ni Saku Etoile, " directed by Goro Taniguchi , known for the anime series " Code Geass " and "One Piece Film Red." The film is set in Paris in the early 20th century, during the height of the Belle Epoque, when various cultures flourished. The newly released cuts depict the streets of Paris, which were brought to life through careful location scouting and meticulous historical research, as well as the dazzling daily lives of two girls, Fujiko and Chizuru, who pursue their dreams there.
Set in Paris in the early 20th century, the film depicts two Japanese girls who, despite difficult times, never give up and reach for the stars (Etoile). Fujiko, who dreams of becoming a painter, and Chizuru, who is passionate about ballet, met by chance in Yokohama as children, and as if drawn by fate, they are reunited in Paris. Kondo Katsuya, who has worked on character design and key animating for Studio Ghibli films such as " Kiki's Delivery Service" and "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea," will be in charge of the original character designs, teaming up with director Taniguchi for the first time. Reiko Yoshida will be writing the script, and the film will be produced by Arbo Animation. Actor Ami Touma will voice the protagonist Fujiko, Arashi Rina will voice Chizuru, and Saotome Taichi will voice Ruslan, a young Russian man who lives in the same apartment as Fujiko. The film is scheduled for release on March 13, 2026.
