The third promotional video for "Ascendance of a Shosetsuka ni Naro: The Lord's Adopted Daughter," a new TV anime series based on the popular light novel "Ascendance of a Bookworm: I'll Do Anything to Become a Librarian," which is popular on the novel submission site "Shosetsuka ni Narou," has been released on YouTube.
The video, featuring the opening theme (OP) "Power of Love" by Kana Nishino and the ending theme (ED) "Wanna me" by Moka Kamishiraishi under the name "adieu," expresses the appeal of each point, such as "family love," "bookmaking," and "fantasy." The video uses footage from the second season, which will begin airing on July 11th, and depicts the protagonist, Rosemaine, parting ways with her family in the lower town, but facing her mission and the trials of being the adopted daughter of the lord, with her passion for books and her feelings for her family in her heart. Rosemaine strives to establish the printing industry, confronts her own immense magical power, and at times engages in fierce battles using magic.
It was also announced that the ending theme, "Wanna me (TV edit)," will be released digitally on July 11th. The newly drawn cover art for the digital release was also revealed.
The series is a light novel written by Miya Katsuki and illustrated by Yu Shiina. It tells the story of Urano Motosu, a girl living in modern Japan who dies on the very day she gets her dream job at a library. She then regains consciousness as Myne, a young girl in another world ruled by magical nobles, and struggles to obtain books. The series has sold over 14 million copies. The first season of the TV anime aired from October to December 2019, the second season from April to June 2020, and the third season from April to June 2022.
"Ascendance of a Bookworm: The Lord's Adopted Daughter" follows Myne as she chooses to live as Rosemaine, the lord's adopted daughter, in order to protect her family and friends in the lower town. It is produced by WIT STUDIO, known for works such as "SPY×FAMILY" and "Attack on Titan Season 3". The voice cast includes Yuka Iguchi as Rosemaine and Show Hayami as Ferdinand. It is currently airing every Saturday at 5:30 PM on the Yomiuri TV/Nippon TV national network. It will be broadcast for two consecutive seasons, with the first season starting in April.
