A special episode of TV Asahi's morning talk show "Hatori Shinichi Morning Show" (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM) entitled "Hatori Shinichi Morning Show: 100 News Stories That Will Make 2025 a Buzz!!" will be broadcast from 6:00 PM to 9:54 PM on December 24th (excluding some areas).
Under the direction of news Caster Shinichi Hatori, familiar commentators such as Kazushige Nagashima, Yoshizumi Ishihara, and Toru Tamagawa will appear to summarise the news that has caused a stir in society this year. Also appearing as commentators will be the comedy duo Ogiyahagi, as well as entertainers Miki Fujimoto and Akira Hokuto. Yuki Amami , star of the film Emergency Interrogation Room : The Final (released December 26th), will also appear as a special guest.
Looking back on the news of the death of his father, "Mr. Professional Baseball" Nagashima Shigeo, Kazushige frankly shared his current feelings, saying, "It still hasn't really hit home... I wouldn't say I've 'gotten it', but what's strange is that I've been sleeping better these past six months."
The show also includes a close look at Kazushige's progress after he underwent hip replacement surgery last September, as well as footage of the rice harvest by Caster, Tamagawa, and Kikuma Chino, who plant rice every year in Yosano Town, Kyoto. At one point, Caster complains to Tamagawa, who is slow at driving the combine harvester, saying, "I wish he'd be more careful with his comments."
Yoshizumi directly interviewed his younger brother, Environment Minister Hirotaka Ishihara, about the frequent bear attacks in Akita Prefecture. After the recording, he commented, "Interviewing the Environment Minister was quite difficult. It was hard to ask him (my brother) questions (laughs)."
Caster, "There were videos of Kazushige's hip replacement surgery, Yoshizumi's bear attack, Tamagawa's rice harvest... and then there was the fight in the studio between Yoshizumi and Tamagawa that almost came to blows, and Kazushige's silly jokes, so I thought this special was packed with this year's 'Morning Show'." He went on to say, "I think it showed all the good and bad things about this year's 'Morning Show'."
