The details of the "100th Anniversary of Broadcasting Red and White Special Medley," the opening project for the 76th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, which will be broadcast on New Year's Eve, have been announced.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of broadcasting, and we will be presenting a medley of classic songs that have graced the history of broadcasting, performed by a number of stellar artists.
Mrs. Green Apple will perform "Let's Meet in Our Dreams," King & Prince, Hiromi Go, and HANA will perform "Hyokkori Hyoutanjima,"Aina the End, Mio Imada, and Atsuko Maeda will perform "Haruichiban," Hiroiki Ariyoshi, CANDY TUNE, FRUITS ZIPPER, and Nobuyuki Maeda will perform "YOUNG MAN," Rira Ikuta and Perfume will perform "Spring, Come," Haruka Ayase, Sayuri Ishikawa, Fuyumi Sakamoto, Kiyoshi Hikawa, and MISIA will perform "Flowers Will Bloom," ILLIT, &TEAM, Number_i, BE:FIRST, and Wakey will perform "Paprika," and volunteers from the Red and White Song Festival will perform "Ue o Muite Arukou."
The theme of the 76th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen is "Connecting, Connecting, New Year's Eve," and it will be hosted by Ariyoshi, Ayase, Imada, and announcer Naoko Suzuki. It will be broadcast from 7:20 pm to 11:45 pm on December 31st (with some news breaks).
