NHK's program "Netsudan Playback," which tells the stories of the lives of heroes and heroines that everyone admires and shocking events that have shocked the world in the form of "completely new storytelling," will broadcast "The Famous Horse Oguri Cap! From Regional Horse Racing to His Emotional Last Run" on NHK General TV from 10:55 pm on December 24th.
The program will feature rare footage and storytelling to depict the story of Oguri Cap, the ``greatest horse among great horses'' who rose from local horse racing to become the number one horse in Japan, from his shocking debut race to his legendary final race that brought tears to the eyes of the whole of Japan.
After making a spectacular debut at a tranquil regional racecourse with fields stretching across the course, Oguri Cap advances to the JRA and begins a three-legged race with stable hand Toshiro Ikee. As Oguri Cap aims to be number one in Japan, he faces the "strongest horse," Tamamo Cross. Will he be able to defeat his rival?
The day of retirement has finally come for Oguri Cap, who fought in some great races. Storyteller Kanda Akukoi passionately reads the story of the legendary race that moved the whole of Japan.
