Additional cast members have been announced for Season 2 of the Hollywood live-action drama series based on Eiichiro Oda's popular manga "ONE PIECE," which is currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), and it has been revealed that actor Rigo Sanchez, who has appeared in dramas such as "Outer Banks," will play Dragon. Dragon first appeared in the 100th chapter of the original manga, Volume 12, "The Legend Has Begun," and has become one of the "super important characters" who has continued to shock viewers by appearing multiple times and creating mysteries.
It was also announced that Yonda Thomas will play Igaramu and James Hiroyuki Liao will play Ipponmatsu. On January 14th, it was announced on the official SNS that additional cast members would be Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, Mark Penwill as Chess, and Anton David Jephtha as Kuromarimo.
The live-action drama will be produced by Hollywood's Tomorrow Studios, which has produced dramas such as "Cowboy Bebop" and "Snowpiercer," with Oda, the original author, participating as executive producer. Inaki Godoy as Mackenyu , Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp , and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
Season 1 began streaming on Netflix in August 2023. Set in Luffy's hometown, the East Blue, it depicts the battle between Luffy and his friends and rough pirates such as Buggy and Arlong, and the origins of the Straw Hat Pirates' adventure. Season 2 will be exclusively available on Netflix soon.
