The trailer for the film "Our Journey for 50 Years" (released January Getsuku, 2026) was released on November 13th.
"Our Journey," a youth drama starring Masatoshi Nakamura, is celebrating its 50th anniversary since its first broadcast and has been adapted into a film titled "Our Journey in 50 Years." The familiar trio of Kasuke (played by Kosuke Tsumura) played by Nakamura, Guzuroku (played by Shinroku Kumazawa) played by Taisaku Akino, and Omeda (played by Takao Nakatani) played by Ken Tanaka reunites. The film depicts the lives of two men in their 70s who are pondering what they really want to do at the end of their lives. Nakamura also serves as director.
"Our Journey" was a popular drama that aired on Nippon Television for about a year starting in October 1975, and excited young people at the time. Special dramas have been produced to mark each of the 10, 20, and 30 years since the series began. This time, Toshio Kamata, who has been the main writer since the drama series, is in charge of planning and scriptwriting. The drama's essential theme song, "Our Journey," is also featured again.
In the film, Kaske, now in his 70s, runs a small local factory, Omeda serves as mayor of Yonago City in Tottori Prefecture, and Guzuroku, thanks to his wife, is chairman of the board of directors of a nursing home. One day, Omeda comes to Kaske's factory. Kaske proudly introduces Omeda, who is now mayor of Yonago City, to the employees, but Omeda, looking depressed, immediately leaves the scene.
