The trailer for the film "Yoyogi Johnny's Melancholy Afterschool" (directed by Kimura Satoshi, opening on October 24th), starring Kanon, who also attracted attention in the audition project "THE LAST PIECE" by BMSG led by SKY-HI, was released on September 5th.
The film is a "troublesome coming-of-age ensemble drama" created by director Kimura, who is known for "Strange Lovers on Another Planet," with a fresh cast of teenage stars. Hiyori plays the protagonist, Yoyogi Johnny. The cast also includes six Miss Magazine 2023 winners, Maya Imamori, Mio Matsuda, Nozomi Nishio, Runa Ichinose, Ayano Kato, and Shieru Yoshii, as well as Men's Non-no exclusive model Rio Takahashi, along with Koko, Suzuka Neya, Oshiro Maeda, Sei Ando, Makita Sports, Ayumu Nakajima, and Keito Tsuna.
Yoyogi Johnny (Hinami), a slightly airheaded and earnest high school boy, spends his after-school days at his own pace, angering his current girlfriend, Atsuko (Matsuda), chatting with the eccentric squash club member Batako (Kato) and the priest (Takahashi) in the clubroom, and visiting his childhood friend Kagura (Ichinose), who is a recluse. However, with the addition of a passionate new member, Deco (Yoshii), the squash club's activities suddenly take off. Johnny is also drawn to Izumo (Imamori), a girl with a mysterious past whom he meets at his part-time job. Little by little, Johnny's daily life and the circumstances surrounding him, including love, friendship, and club activities, begin to change. Meanwhile, the day of the squash club's team match approaches... This is the story.
