Entertainer George Tokoro will appear on the November 8th episode of the talk show "Ogiyahagi's Car History: NO CAR, NO LIFE!" (BS Nippon TV, Saturdays at 9pm), hosted by comedy duo Ogi Hiroaki and Yahagi Ken of the comedy duo Ogiyahagi. The first part of the 500th special will be filmed at Tokoro's frontline base in Setagaya.
Tokoro-san says that the first car he bought at the age of 18 was a Japanese-made car that stood out from the trends of the time. Tokoro-san has owned 84 cars of known make and model. It turns out that there were at least 33 American cars, 29 European cars, and 22 Japanese cars, but Tokoro-san reveals, "Even if I researched it, I don't think it's enough," and "I sold some of the cars while I was still modifying them."
There were also many troubles with his beloved car. He was in dire straits, with "all four tires being different," "it was a total wreck and always stuck on Ome-kaido," and "it got stuck with the accelerator on on the Kan-etsu Expressway." The couple owned two Sunny Trucks, and they decided to do something fun that no one else was doing at the time - loading bicycles onto them, simply because "it looked cool." The only person who took the bait with this story was a famous actor representing the Showa era.
