It has been announced that the TV anime series " YOWAYOWA TEACHER ," based on the romantic comedy manga by Kamio Fukuchi currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), will begin airing in April 2026. It has also been announced that Marika Kono will play YOWAYOWA TEACHER Hiyori Hiwamura, a new English teacher nicknamed "Yowayowa Sensei," and Kakeru Hatano will play Abikura, a second-year high school student. Hiroshi Ishiodori will serve as director, and Brain's Base will produce.
Takano commented, "I'm so happy and it feels like a miracle that I've been reprising my role from the PV! I'll do my best to act in this hugely popular series so that it can be loved by many people in the TV anime series as well!"
Hatano said, "My impression of the original work was that I was genuinely envious! When I was a student, all the teachers were very strong... I have some similarities with Abikura kun, as I also lived my school life without standing out and thought of myself as someone to talk about, "in moderation"! We are also very similar in our calm and gentle sides (laughs). I will do my best so that lots of people will watch it and laugh!"
The original author, Fukuchi, commented, "I am very honored to have been given this valuable opportunity! It would be wonderful if the characters could reach more people and they could come to love them! Please look forward to the broadcast starting in April next year!"
"YOWAYOWA TEACHER" will begin serialization in November 2022. A student from the class, Hiyori Hiwamura , also known as "Scary Teacher," who is rumored to curse students if she upsets them. He decides to work together with the students to clear up the misunderstanding so that the clumsy teacher's hard work will be rewarded.
