Synopsis of episode 8 of the TV drama "Convenience Store Brothers"

The ninth episode of NHK's "Drama 10 'Convenience Store Brothers: Tenderness Mojiko Kogane Village Branch'" (NHK General, Tuesdays at 10 PM), starring Kento Nakajima, will air on June 23rd. The subtitle for this episode is "A Faint First Love Tastes Like Soy Milk Pork Soup."

"Convenience Store Brothers" is based on the novel of the same name by Sonoko Machida. It is a heartwarming and mysterious human comedy set in a convenience store in Mojiko, Kitakyushu City. Nakajima plays two roles: the protagonist, the "pheromone store manager" Mitsuhiko Shiwa, and his older brother, the "wild, anything-goes guy" Nihiko Shiwa.

In the ninth episode, an elderly woman, whom Hikari (Rena Tanaka) had never seen before, came to her for advice because she wanted to buy a large amount of prepaid cards.

With quick thinking, Hikari prevents a special fraud from happening. This incident makes the news, and Hikari becomes a person of the moment in Mojiko. One day, the local elementary school's newspaper club comes to interview her. While Hikari and the store manager, Shiwa (Nakajima), are being interviewed, the topic of an unfortunate incident that occurred at Tenderness 18 years ago comes up.

In fact, that incident was the event that changed Shiwa's destiny...
