Ranmaru Kishitani, the eldest son of actor Goro Kishitani and musician Kaori Kishitani, and a businessman himself, attended a press conference and observation session for the first recording of TOKYO FM's new program, "Ranmaru Kishitani's Unsettled Conversations," held in Tokyo on June 22nd. After completing the recording of his first regular radio program, Kishitani spoke about his enthusiasm for the project.
"Kishitani Ranmaru's Stories That Can't Be Smoothed Up" will start at midnight on July 4th. The show aims to bring together and share those everyday frustrations and unresolved emotions that we wish we could settle amicably, but just can't, and grow a little bit together with the listeners.
Reflecting on the first recording session, Kishitani smiled and said, "It's finally here. It's been a long-held goal of mine, something I've always wanted to do, so I'm genuinely happy." He continued, "I realized that I really do love myself. You can hear your own voice through radio headphones. It feels good. It's like, 'This is my voice.' It makes me happy."
Kishitani said that even when he was doing YouTube under a false name, he had set his sights on having a regular radio show. "I also do podcasts on my YouTube channel. They've only been played about 500 times though (laughs). I genuinely enjoy talking, and I'm basically a lonely person, so I want people to listen to me. I really enjoy talking about trivial things, and it would be great if people would listen to that," he explained.
He also mentioned that his parents met through a radio show, and said with a wry smile, "I haven't heard it directly from my parents, but I hear it mentioned in the comments section... It's awkward when people say things like, 'I was watching when my parents first met.'"
On the other hand, she also said, "It would be great if I could find a marriage partner (through our radio collaboration)," and appealed, "If I could find one, I would like to. I'm currently looking for one."
