The 24th episode of the NHK Taiga drama "BROTHERS IN ARMS (Toyotomi Brothers!)" (NHK General, Sundays at 8pm, etc.), starring actor Taiga Nakano, titled "Strategist Kanbei!", aired on June 21st and continued to depict Murashige's (Tortoise Matsumoto) siege and Kanbei's (Yuki Kura) imprisonment.
In last week's episode 23, Murashige rebelled against Nobunaga (played by Shun Oguri). Kanbei, who went to persuade him, was captured at Arioka Castle...
In episode 24, the battle between Murashige, who was still holed up in the castle, and the Oda army had reached a stalemate, but Koichiro (played by Taiga Nakano) succeeded in cutting off the supply lines for provisions.
Murashige then went to the prison where Kanbei was being held. Asking Kanbei if he had any plan to survive, Murashige pleaded desperately, "Surely you have some clever idea. Tell me what it is! If you tell me, I'll get you out of here. Please, Kanbei-dono, help me!" However, a year had passed since he was imprisoned, and Kanbei had reached his physical and mental limits, so he refused Murashige's plea, saying, "I don't want to think about anything anymore." Then Murashige, horrified by Kanbei's changed appearance, fled the scene.
In response to this scene where Murashige tries to get advice from Kanbei, viewers commented, "Hey, hey, it's just like Black Prison," "It's exactly like Black Prison," and "It's really just like Black Prison lol."
"Kurorojo" is a film starring Masahiro Motoki set in Arioka Castle during the Sengoku period. It has also garnered attention because Masaki Suda , who played Hanbei Takenaka in " BROTHERS IN ARMS (Toyotomi Brothers!) ", appears as the imprisoned genius strategist Kanbei Kuroda.
Araki Murashige (played by Motoki) rebels against the tyrannical methods of Oda Nobunaga and decides to hold out in his castle, but a series of mysterious incidents occur. The suspects are his retainers and family members who are trapped inside the castle, which has become a sealed room... As everyone becomes suspicious of each other, Murashige teams up with Kuroda Kanbei (played by Masaki Suda), a dangerous genius strategist imprisoned in jail, to try and solve the case... This is the story. It was released on June 19th.
Comments on social media included: "Is it a coincidence or intentional that the movie and the historical drama are airing at the same time?", "Wow, it's really an interesting coincidence that this episode comes out at the same time as the release of Black Prison Castle," "It's amazing if it was planned," and "I'm surprised at how perfectly timed it is."
