It has been announced that the movie version of "The Final Season: Attack on Titan," the final chapter of the TV anime series based on Hajime Isayama's popular manga, "Attack on Titan: The Final Chapter - The Last Attack," will be screened again. The film was released on November 8, 2024, and was a hit, attracting over one million viewers. The film will be screened again to commemorate the first anniversary of its release, with the Dolby Cinema version, the first in the series, premiering on Getsuku, 2026. A new 4K screening master has been created under the supervision of director Yuichiro Hayashi and sound director Masafumi Mima. The regular version will also be screened starting January 16.
Director Hayashi commented, "THE LAST ATTACK is being screened again! This is all thanks to all the fans who came to the theater many times and supported us when the movie was released last time. Thank you!"
It was also announced that the film will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 21, 2026. It will be a new 4K master, the same as the Dolby Cinema screening. Bonus footage will also be included, including footage from the events "ATTACK FES" and "Attack Sound Experience Final," which were held in January 2024.
"Attack on Titan" is a manga that depicts humanity's desperate battle against giants with overwhelming power. It is Isayama's debut work, and began serialization in September 2009 as the inaugural title of "Bessatsu Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), with the final episode airing in April 2021.
Season 1 of the TV anime aired from April to September 2013, Season 2 from April to June 2017, and Part 1 of Season 3 from July to October 2018. Part 2 of Season 3 aired from April to June 2019, Part 1 of the final chapter, "The Final Season," aired from December 2020 to March 2021, Part 2 from January to April 2022, the final episode (Part 1) aired in March 2023, and the final episode (Part 2) aired in November 2023.
