The drama series "Good Things and Bad Things" (NTV, Saturdays at 9pm) stars actors Mamiya Shotaro and Araki Yuko in the lead roles. The synopsis and stills for episode 5, which will air on November 8th, have been released.
A serial murder case strikes classmates one after the other. Of the six targets, Takagi (Mamiya), Koyama (Shintaro Morimoto), and Hatachi (Mori Yusaku) are the only surviving members and begin a strategy meeting in Takagi's garage. Among the former class 6-1 students, there is someone other than Sonoko (Araki) who holds a grudge against them... who could it be? As they look through photos of their classmates, searching for someone they might know, Hatachi says, "Huh? There's one more person who knows us." It's Otani (Akama Mariko), their homeroom teacher at the time, who is now the school principal.
Thinking that Otani might remember things that Takagi and the others have forgotten, the three of them visit their alma mater with Sonoko. As Koyama reminisces about the school building after a long time, Sonoko stops and says, "When I come here, I remember a lot of things." Flashbacks come to Sonoko's mind: the storage room where Takagi and the others locked her 22 years ago, the entrance where she was forced to apologize in front of everyone, the stairs where she was ridiculed after having her school bag stolen. Seeing Sonoko like that, Takagi feels heartbroken, and on his way to the principal's office, he witnesses his daughter Kanon (Miyazaki Ririsa), a fourth-grader, fighting with a boy.
After hearing the story from Takagi and the others, Otani smiles and says that there had been no notable trouble in the former Class 6-1, and that he had no idea that Sonoko had been treated so badly. However, Takagi and the others find a clue in the principal's office.
Meanwhile, Detective Utsumi (Subaru Kimura) of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigative Division begins a reinvestigation into the cause of death of Emi (Matsui Rena) and Takeda (Mizukawa Katamari), whose deaths were previously announced as accidental. Meanwhile, an unexpected person appears before Takagi and his friends...
The drama is a mystery that explores the suspicious death of a classmate from elementary school. The script is written by Gaku Kawasaki, who has worked on "Betrayal Meals in a Place Like This" (Chukyo TV). The directors are Shunsuke Kariyama, who has worked on "Brush Up Life" (Nippon TV), Kengo Takimoto, who worked on the film "Kaibutsu of Love," and Shinya Nagano.
