Tsutomu's popular manga "Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono o Suki" (Lovely Old Men), which has also been adapted into a live-action TV drama, will be adapted into a TV anime in 2026. Liden Films will produce the anime. Details such as the cast and broadcast date will be announced in the future.
The manga has been serialized on the web manga service "COMIC Polaris" (Flex Comics) since 2017. It is a "secretly cute old man" comedy that depicts the daily life of 42-year-old "ikeoji" (handsome older man) Koji Miki, who appears cool and good at his job, but who secretly loves small, cute things. 11 volumes of the manga have been released. A live-action drama starring actor Hidekazu Mashima aired in 2020.
Tsutomu, the original author, commented, "I can't believe it! 'Ojikawa' is being made into an anime! Eh? Do Koji and the others move? Do they talk? Really? The pace of each episode of the 'Ojikawa' manga is different, so I thought it would be difficult to put together... but after checking it out... it's turned out to be a lot of fun! Amazing!
