A new promotional video has been released on YouTube for the second season of the TV anime "Wistoria of the Wand and Sword," which is based on a manga by Fujino Omori, known for the popular light novel "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon (Danmachi)." The video hints at the battle between Will and Elpharia at the Terminaria Festival and the events from episode 18 onwards, when Will and his friends, having graduated from the magic academy, will finally head towards the "Tower."
It was also announced that the second season will be released on Blu-ray. The first volume will be released on August 26th, and the second volume on November 27th. The special booklet included with each volume will contain storyboards for the opening sequence and various setting materials created by director Tatsuya Yoshihara, as well as a newly written short story by Omori. A special voice drama CD based on the short story will also be included. The special book case will feature a newly drawn illustration by manga artist Sei Aoi, and the jacket will feature a newly drawn illustration by character designer Sayaka Ono.
"Wistoria of the Wand and Sword" is a manga series written by Omori and illustrated by Aoi, which has been serialized in "Bessatsu Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha) since December 2020. Set in a world where magic is paramount, it depicts the story of Will, a boy who can't use magic at all, as he enrolls in a magic academy and fights on despite being on the verge of giving up due to the cold stares of those around him. The first season of the TV anime aired from July to September 2024.
Season 2 is currently airing every Sunday at 4:30 PM on the TBS network, which consists of 28 stations nationwide.
