An event for the film "Kyojo Requiem" (directed by Nakae Isao), starring actor Kimura Takuya, was held on February 3rd at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills (Minato Ward, Tokyo), with Kimura, who plays the strict police academy instructor Kazama Kimichika, and 11 other stellar actors playing the trainees, the "205th Class." At the event, titled "Carpet Arrival," the actors walked down a carpeted runway on the grand staircase in front of TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills.
Appearing at the event were Kimura, Tsuna Hironaga, Saito Kyoko, Kaneko Daichi, Kura Yuki, Igeta Hiroe, Otomo Karen, Ohara Yuno, Nakayama Shota, Uragami Seishu, Jotaro, and Matsunaga Arisa, who play the "205th Class."
Kimura said, "Thank you for coming out in this cold weather. I have been working on the series 'Kyojo' since the first film, and thanks to everyone who has been working behind the scenes, and with the help of many staff members, we have managed to complete the film version of 'Requiem'. I hope that everyone will enjoy it. Please accept it. Thank you very much."
The first part of the "Kyojo" film project, "Kyojo Reunion," has been streaming on Netflix since January 1st, and the second part, "Kyojo Requiem," will be released in theaters from February 20th. The story revolves around the grizzled Kazama Kimuchika (played by Kimura), a strict instructor with a prosthetic right eye. He uses his sharp gaze to discern the various doubts, conflicts, and secrets that arise among the police academy trainees, sifting through the students and forcing them to submit their withdrawal notices one after another. The first series, "Kyojo," aired as Fuji TV's New Year's special in 2020, followed by the second series, "Kyojo II," in 2021, and "Kazama Kimuchika - Kyojo 0," a story about Kazama's past, in the same network's Monday 9pm slot in 2023.
