Singer Fuji Ayako will appear on the variety show "Ogiyahagi's Car History NO CAR, NO LIFE!" (BS Nippon TV, Saturday 9pm), which will be broadcast on January 31st.
The first car that Fuji saw was the fifth-generation Toyota Crown, which he drove for the first time. "I want to drive a Crown at the end of my life. It was my dream," his father said, and it was the car that he bought to make his dream come true.
However, his father fell ill soon after and was hospitalized. While driving around during that time, Fuji had some trouble with the car, but for some reason, his father noticed right away. He also talks about an episode from his youth when he went on a drive to a lake with a girl from his class, and how he married his first love at the young age of 20, and reveals a car that holds fond memories for him and his wife.
After his debut, he immediately purchased a Peugeot 306 Cabriolet. He recalls seeing it by chance in the city and thinking, "Wow, it's beautiful!" and buying it on impulse. When choosing a car, he places importance on appearance, and even Ogiyahagi are impressed by his intuition.
Having a vacation home in the Yatsugatake Mountains, he started buying 4WDs to travel around. He once bought two Jeep Cherokees in a row, saying, "It wouldn't look strange for a girl to drive one of those." However, his current car is an ultra-luxury SUV from a popular Italian manufacturer. He has apparently chosen the same manufacturer for three cars in a row. When the shocking price of his current car was revealed, Yahagi Ken teased him, saying, "I don't really look at the price when I buy cars around here either."
The last car to appear was a request from Fuji. "It's a car that brings back memories of my youth, so I wanted to see it again. It really makes me feel like I'm 17 again," she said, her eyes shining like a young girl at the long-awaited reunion.
