On January 16th, hard rock band VOW WOW held a concert, "VOW WOW The 40 Years of VOW WOW Ⅲ Celebration," at Tokyo Garden Theater (Koto Ward, Tokyo) to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the release of their third album, "Ⅲ." It has been announced that the concert will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW in March.
VOW WOW disbanded in 1990, but reunited in 2010. However, in 2024, to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of drummer Toshihiro Niimi, who passed away the previous year, and the 40th anniversary of the release of their first album, "BEAT OF METAL MOTION," they decided to get back together for the first time in 14 years.
"III," the title of this concert, is an album produced in 1986 with British producer Tony Platt. Starting with the powerful and profound "Go Insane," the album continues with "Shot In The Dark," one of VOW WOW's most fast-paced tunes, as well as dramatic arrangements and melodic melodies, and is said to be one of the greatest albums in the history of Japanese hard rock/hard rock.
2026 also marks the 40th anniversary of their relocation to the UK. At the Tokyo Garden Theater, Kyoji Yamamoto will perform a number of timeless hits, centered around their classic album "III," with Kyoji Yamamoto on guitar, Rei Atsumi on synthesizer, and Motoki Hitomi on vocals.
