A bookstore fair will be held at selected bookstores to commemorate the release of the latest 15th volume of the manga "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," which is currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan), on December 18th. If you purchase one of the selected comics or books related to the series, you will receive one "Magical Character Card 2 with Voices," which allows you to hear the voices of characters such as Frieren and Himmel.
You can listen to the voices by visiting the special website and entering the "magic words" on the back of the card. There are eight types of cards: Frieren, Himmel, Fern, Stark, Viabel, the Hero of the South, Frieren& Himmel, and Fern& Stark, and the voices have been recorded by the cast of the second season of the TV anime. The Frieren& Himmel and Fern& Stark cards allow you to hear the two characters interacting with each other.
"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" is a manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday in April 2020. Freiren is a magician in the hero's party who defeated the Demon King. Being an elf, Frieren lives a long life. After experiencing the death of a companion, she embarks on a journey to "discover people." The manga has been selected for the Manga Taisho 2021, the 25th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize Newcomer Award, the 69th (2023) Shogakukan Manga Award, and the 48th Kodansha Manga Award in the Boys' category. The manga has sold over 32 million copies.
The first season of the TV anime aired on Nippon Television's anime slot "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT" from September 2023 to March 2024. The second season will air in the same slot every Friday at 11:00 PM starting January 16, 2026.
