"Ichi the Witch, " a manga written by Nishi Osamu and illustrated by Usazaki Shiro, currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), and " Kagurabachi " by Takeru Hokazono , have collaborated in the magazine's 2026 issue 1, which went on sale on December 1st. This is the first time that the two works, which are rivals in "Weekly Shonen Jump," have collaborated, and the main characters from each work have appeared on the cover of the same issue.
Advertisements featuring each company's rivals will also be featured under the theme "Rivals Make the World More Interesting." Suntory's beverages (Tokucha and Tokusui), Zespri's kiwifruit (Green and Gold), Bandai Namco Entertainment's games (Don and Katsu from Taiko no Tatsujin), and Morinaga Milk Industry's ice cream (Pino and Palm) are collaborating with Weekly Shonen Jump, with posters on display in Shibuya, Tokyo and Shinsaibashi, Osaka, until December 14th.
A campaign will also begin on December 1st at 6pm to make " Ichi the Witch" and "Kagurabachi" available for free on a special website. For a limited time until December 26th at 9pm, the two works will be available to read for free for 180 minutes every day from 6pm.
"Ichi the Witch" began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in September 2024. Set in a world where there are hunters known as "witches" who hunt living creatures and learn their magic, the story follows a hunter living in the mountains who has no connection to witches or magic, who overturns the common sense of the world.
This is Tonozono's first serialized work, a sword-fighting action story that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2023. The story follows Chihiro, a boy aspiring to become a swordsmith who trains daily under his father, a swordsmith, until one day tragedy strikes... It also garnered attention after being selected as number one in the comics category of the Next Manga Awards 2024.
