To commemorate the success of the film "Bomb" (directed by Nagai Satoshi, currently in theaters), a "hair-cutting ceremony video" of Sato Jiro, who plays the mysterious middle-aged man Suzuki Tagosaku, has been released on YouTube.
The video shows Suzuki's trademark shaved head and "10-yen baldness" being created using his own hair. Sato is trying out a shaved head for the first time in about 40 years as his hair is cut with clippers. In stark contrast to the tense scenes in the film, where Sato is constantly teasing the staff, the video is light-hearted and filled with laughter.
The film is a live-action adaptation of Wu Sheng-hao's bestselling novel "Bomb" (Kodansha), which won first place in "This Mystery is Amazing! 2023 Edition" (Takarajimasha), starring Yuki Yamada. It depicts a battle of wits in an interrogation room between a mysterious bomber and the police. Suzuki Tagosaku, played by Sato, evades questioning by the protagonist Ruike, played by Yamada, and other detectives, while toying with the police with "quizzes" about bombs he has planted around Tokyo.
Released on October 31st, it topped the box office rankings for two consecutive weeks as the highest grossing live-action film. As of November 10th, it has attracted an audience of 750,000 people and grossed over 1,049 million yen.
