It has been announced that the band GLAY will be performing the opening theme "Dead or Alive" for the third season of the anime series Record of Ragnarok, Record of Ragnarok III, which is based on the battle manga currently being serialized in Monthly Comic Zenon (Core Mix). The song is an intense piece written and composed by TAKURO. The third promotional video was released on YouTube, showcasing the song. It was also announced that the third season will be available on Netflix from December 10th.
TAKURO of GLAY commented, "I am very honored to be in charge of the opening theme song for a series that has been hugely popular since the first season. 'Dead Or Alive' was created with the epic story of ' Record of Ragnarok' in mind, as well as the suffering of each character that 'cannot be judged by justice.' Furthermore, the song combines the worldview of spectacular action with the intensity inherent in rock."
It was also announced that Shun Horie will be joining the cast as Nostradamus. Horie said, "When I watched the series as a viewer, I was delighted by the overflowing passion, but now that I'm experiencing that passion live at the dubbing studio, I'm trembling. As Nostradamus, I intend to stir up trouble around me with my endlessly daring personality and my nonchalant yet cute personality. I predict! Season 3 will be very interesting!"
The third trailer depicts "Ragnarok," the final battle between gods and humans, and features characters who will fight in rounds 7, 8, and 9. The second key visual, depicting the fighters in battle, has also been released.
"Record of Ragnarok" is a manga illustrated by Ajichika, written by Umemura Shinya, and written by Fukui Takumi, and began serialization in Monthly Comic Zenon in 2017. Representatives of the gods and humans from around the world compete in 13 one-on-one battles. The comic has sold over 18 million copies in total.
The first season of the anime was released in June 2021, the first part of the second season, "Record of Ragnarok II," (episodes 1-10) was released in January 2023, and the second part, (episodes 11-15) was released in July of the same year. For the third season, voice actress and singer Saori Hayami will be performing the ending theme, "Last breath, Last record."
