The fifth episode of the TV drama "The Kidnapping Day" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9pm), starring actor Saito Takumi, will be broadcast on August 5th.
Nanase Rin (Yuno Nagao), who escaped from the villa of medical doctor Mizuhara (Uchida Yuki), is captured and brought back by Kevin Fukuzumi (Suzuki Kosuke), the head of the Japanese branch of Singaporean investment company Z Capitals.
Z Capitals has invested a large amount of money in the "Next Generation Intelligence Development Project" that produced the genius girl Rin, and Fukuzumi is said to be the general manager.
Rin asks Fukuzumi, "If Masamune (Saito) dies, I will die too. Bring him here."
Masamune is about to be arrested and taken away by detective Sunouchi Tsukasa (Eguchi Yosuke), but Fukuzumi's subordinate Samezu (Eishin) attacks Sunouchi on his orders. Masamune is also taken back to the villa and reunites with Rin.
Fukuzumi is searching for the formula for the drug that creates geniuses, developed by Rin's father, Mamoru (Handa Shuhei), and in order to search the Nanase family, he proposes a deal to Rin's great-uncle, Nanase Tomio (Hasegawa Hatsunori).
Rin suspects that if the formula is found, her reason for existence will disappear and she may be killed along with Masamune. She considers seeking help from outside. Masamune and Rin search for an emergency phone line somewhere, while evading the eyes of the guards. Just then, Rin regains her memory of the day her parents were murdered...
