The winners and winning works of the 19th Seiyu Awards, which are given to the most active voice actors in the year, have been announced in advance, and it has been revealed that the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series won the Synergy Award. Lookback won a special award, and Yakuza 8 won the Game of the Year award.
Soichiro Hoshi and Yamazaki Wakana were selected to receive the Toyama Kei and Takahashi Kazue Award, which is given to voice actors who have been active in various fields, including acting in works. Okamoto Mari and Noda Keiichi received the Lifetime Achievement Award, which is given to voice actors who have contributed to many genres, including foreign films, for many years. Hatano Wataru was selected to receive the Kids Family Award, which is given to a voice actor selected from a children's perspective. Some of the winners and their winning works have been announced ahead of the awards ceremony to be held on March 15th.
The Seiyuu Awards were established in 2006 and are co-sponsored by KADOKAWA, Nippon Cultural Broadcasting, and Shogakukan Shueisha Productions. The 14 categories other than MVS (Most Valuable Seiyu, the most active voice actor chosen by fans) are selected by the executive committee and the selection committee.
The 19th edition will feature voice actors who appeared in works broadcast, streamed, or released between October 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024.
