Actors Yuki Yamada and Bakarhythm appeared at the production report press conference for the movie "Beethoven Fabrication" (directed by Seki Kazuaki, to be released on September 12th) held in Tokyo on August 6th.
This live-action film is based on Shiho Kagehara's historical non-fiction book "Beethoven Fabrication: A Famous Producer Lies" (published by Kawade Bunko). The film focuses on the scandal surrounding the alteration of Beethoven's phrasebook by Schindler, who served as Beethoven's secretary and wrote his posthumous biography.
Yamada plays the lead role of Schindler, a loyal secretary who, driven by a sense of mission to protect his idol Beethoven, played by Furuta Arata, struggles to transform him from a "vulgar, dirty old man (truth)" into a "holy genius musician (lie)" after his death.
Regarding Yamada's portrayal of Schindler, screenwriter Bakarhythm praised Yamada's portrayal of the "eccentric" character, saying, "Even though (Schindler) does some extremely abnormal things, he doesn't think he's doing anything wrong. I think this is what truly crazy people are like (laughs)."
He continued, "If Yamada had any doubts about Schindler, this wouldn't have happened. It's gross. Truly dangerous people don't think they're dangerous. I thought it was amazing how he was able to perfectly express that danger," and Yamada smiled and said, "Thank you."
Furuta and manager Seki also attended the press conference.
