The 25th episode of the NHK Taiga drama "BROTHERS IN ARMS （Toyotomi Brothers!）", starring actor Taiga Nakano (NHK General, Sundays at 8 PM, etc.), titled "Omen of Disturbance," aired on June 28th. In this episode, just a minute and a half into the show, Masakatsu Hachisuka (Tsutomu Takahashi) was surprised to learn that he would become a "castle lord," a news that viewers celebrated.
"BROTHERS IN ARMS （Toyotomi Brothers!）" is the 65th Taiga drama. With Toyotomi Hidenaga (Koichiro) as the protagonist, it depicts the miraculous feat of unifying Japan together with his older brother Hideyoshi (Tokichiro) through their strong bond, a success story of dreams and hopes.
The script is written by Hiroyuki Yatsu, known for his work on "Hanzawa Naoki" (TBS) and the Asadora drama series "Ochoyan." The music is composed by Hideaki Kimura, and the narration is provided by actress Sakura Ando.
At the beginning of the episode, Hideyoshi (Sosuke Ikematsu) tries to entrust Masakatsu with the construction of Tatsuno Castle. At first, Masakatsu doesn't understand the meaning of his words and says that Kanbei (Yuki Kura), who is knowledgeable in military science, would be more suitable, but Hideyoshi insists again, "You will do it." He then says, "Isn't it only natural that one should repair their own castle?" Masakatsu says, "Don't be ridiculous. When was I ever the lord of that castle?" but then he realizes something and repeatedly says "Hmmmm." At that point, Hideyoshi formally appoints him, saying, "Hachisuka Masakatsu, I appoint you as the lord of Tatsuno Castle," and Koichiro (Taiga Nakano) and others rejoice along with him.
Masakatsu couldn't hide his surprise at becoming the lord of the castle, but Hideyoshi had promised him "a castle in three years" as a reward when they first met, so he "apologised" for the delay. Although 15 years had already passed since then, Masakatsu was deeply moved and vowed, "I, Hachisuka Masakatsu, gratefully accept the duties of the lord of Tatsuno Castle," and "No matter what happens in the future, I will be of support to my lord!"
