Actress Suzu Hirose attended the new commercial launch event for "The Premium Malt's" held in Tokyo on February 10th. Hirose, who plays the main character of the popular animation "Chibi Maruko-chan", "Premium Maru-chan" 20 years later as an adult, appeared in her original costume.
The new commercial depicts a world in which the characters from the popular anime "Chibi Maruko-chan" have become premium adults 20 years later in live-action. The first episode, "Reunion," will be broadcast nationwide from February 9th, and the second episode, "Letter," will be released on social media from noon on the 10th. The commercial will be aired nationwide from the 13th. Ito Sari will play premium Tama-chan, and Odagiri Joe will play premium Hanawa-kun.
Regarding her role as Maruko, Hirose, who is from Shizuoka Prefecture, smiled and said, "I'm happy to be able to play the future Maruko. I think this is a commercial that will please my family and everyone in my hometown."
He continued, "I thought that if I had the face of a Shizuoka resident, I would be able to act honestly," and recalled, "It was fun and I was happy when we filmed it. We're from the same hometown so I felt a sense of affinity, and I thought it was such a gorgeous commercial."
She also revealed that when she was a child she was called "Chibi Maruko," and said happily, "My older sister (Alice Hirose) was called Maruko, and I was called Chibi Maruko. I've finally become (Chibi Maruko-chan)."
