Former professional tennis player Shuzo Matsuoka will appear on NHK's documentary program "Family History" (General), which will be broadcast from 7:30 pm on August 18th. The program will explore the story of Matsuoka's family, which traces its roots back to Ichizo Kobayashi, the legendary businessman who founded Hankyu Railway, Takarazuka Revue, Toho, and other companies.
The subtitle of the program that day was "Matsuoka Shuzo: A Magnificent Family Who Devoted Their Lives to Their Dreams." His great-great-grandfather, Shuzo Matsuoka, rose to fame as a gambler and founded a shipping company in one generation. His grandmother, Fusako, overcame the grief of losing her eldest son and made her three daughters into Takarasienne actresses. His father, Isao, was also a famous tennis player, but chose a different path from Shuzo.
This is the story of a family that has dedicated their lives to their dreams...
