"Omusubi" is a "Heisei youth graffiti" in which the heroine, born in 1989, connects people's hearts and futures as a nutritionist, with the "gal spirit" of valuing one's individuality at all times.
In the 18th week, in 2018, Yui is in her fourth year as a registered dietitian. Yui becomes concerned about a child patient who is not in her care, and at the recommendation of Tsukamoto (Mari Hamada), the head of the nutrition department, she decides to join the NST (nutritional support team).
The story unfolds as Yui ends up working alongside doctor Matsuzaki (Nagano Munenori), nurse Kuwabara (Hina Kaze), speech-language-hearing therapist Sugisawa (Inukai Takato), and pharmacist Shinomiya (Tsuji Nagiko).
