The second episode of the TV drama "Secret ~THE TOP SECRET~" (Kantele/Fuji TV, Mondays at 10pm), starring actor Rihito Itagaki and Yuto Nakajima from the popular group Hey! Say! JUMP , will be aired on February 3rd.
The drama is based on Shimizu Reiko's "Secret - Top Secret" published in the manga magazine "Melody" (Hakusensha) and its spin-off work "Secret Season 0". The script will be written by Sato Tsumako, who has worked on the "Unfair" series (same network) and the movie "Onmyoji 0" (2024). The story is set in the Forensic Science Laboratory No. 9, commonly known as "No. 9". Itagaki will play Maki Tsuyoshi, head of the No. 9 laboratory, while Nakajima will play Suzuki Katsuhiro, a former member of the No. 9 who lost his life in an incident, and Aoki Ikko, a rookie investigator who looks just like Suzuki and is later assigned to the No. 9.
In the first episode, Tsuyoshi Maki (Itagaki), head of the National Research Institute of Police Science's special unit "No. 9," and his colleague Katsuhiro Suzuki (Nakajima) use MRI technology to analyze the brain of a dead person, and using the remaining footage as a clue, they uncover the truth behind the wrongful conviction of a death row inmate.
In the second episode, Kainuma Kiyotaka (Kunimura Jun), a brain scientist whom Maki respects, takes his own life. As Kainuma's suicide was due to his illness, Maki regrets not realizing that something was wrong with him. In accordance with his will, which states that he wants his brain to be used for "The Ninth," Suzuki (Nakajima) promises to take an MRI of Kainuma's brain.
However, a few days later, as Maki was heading to the MRI investigation room, he suddenly heard the sound of a gunshot. When Maki rushed over, he found Suzuki and the other investigators collapsed, and Kainuma's horrifying secret was being shown on the monitor. Maki began to check Kainuma's MRI footage. Meanwhile, Yukiko (Kadowaki Mugi) rushed to the hospital where Suzuki was supposed to be hospitalized...
One month later, a convenience store employee, Kojima Ikuko (Ikewaki Chizuru), stabs her coworker to death. Okabe Yasufumi (Takahashi Tsutomu) of the First Investigation Division, who is on the scene investigating the incident, is suddenly ordered to transfer to the 9th Division. Okabe had made fun of the 9th Division's "MRI investigation," which involves scanning the brain and peering into it, but...
