The eighth episode of the TBS Friday drama "Takusari Brothers," starring actor Masaki Okada and also featuring Shota Sometani, aired on June 5th. The actions of Koike, played by Goro Kishitani, are puzzling, and viewers are divided on whether he is an enemy or an ally of Makoto (Okada) and Minoru (Sometani).

Makoto and Minoru successfully restored Tsuda's (Kazuki Iio) notebook, which contained his research into the connection between Karashima Metal Factory and the Igarashi Group. As they were reading through it together, Koike suddenly appeared and stole the data from the restored notebook.
Later, Makoto and the others hear information from Haruko (Haruka Igawa) about Sasaoka (Yurei Yanagi), who worked with Koike on the "Takusari Family Murder Case." Sasaoka was dismissed from his job in 1998 for leaking information to the Igarashi gang, and at that time, Koike was transferred from the Prefectural Police First Division to the local traffic division.
Koike had not submitted Tsuda's memo, which he had taken from the two as evidence in the case, to the prefectural police. When Makoto pressed him for answers, Koike retorted, "Do you know the words 'right, wrong, crooked, straight'? It means that there are good and bad things in life. I think there's one more thing. Something you don't need to know. I disposed of that memo."
However, in reality, Koike had not disposed of the memo. After handing Tsuda's memo to Sasaoka, Koike asserted, "That case is not over yet." The mystery surrounding Koike deepened.
Koike's inexplicable actions sparked a flurry of comments on social media, including: "Koike is definitely guilty," "Koike has emerged as the number one suspect," "I can't tell if Koike is a benevolent ally or an enemy trying to get in the way," "Koike is so suspicious that it makes me think she's not the culprit," "Koike was the most suspicious. Could it be that she's actually investigating the case on her own?", and "Koike looks guilty, but it seems like she's actually pursuing the truth alone and protecting the two from the shadows."
The drama follows Detective Makoto and Medical Examiner Minoru as they investigate heinous crimes that occur daily and pursue the true culprit in the murder of their parents, a case that expired just two days before the statute of limitations was abolished. This is the latest work from producer Junko Arai, who has worked on hit crime suspense works such as the film "Last Mile" and the dramas "Unnatural," "MIU404," and "Saiai."
