It has been revealed that the box office revenue of "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-", the theatrical pre-release version of "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX", the latest work in the popular anime "Gundam" series, has exceeded 1.9 billion yen. The number of moviegoers exceeded 1.18 million. According to the movie attendance ranking (surveyed by Kogyo Tsushinsha), it attracted about 180,000 moviegoers and earned about 271 million yen in box office revenue over the three-day weekend from January 31st to February 2nd, ranking it second.
"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is also a hot topic as it is the first collaboration between Sunrise, which is responsible for the "Gundam" series, and khara, known for the "Evangelion" series. The TV anime series is broadcast on the Nippon Television Network, and a pre-broadcast version of some episodes was released in theaters on January 17th.
