The lyric video for "Hunting Soul," a song by musicians HAYASii that appeared in episode 18 of the TV anime " Dandadan ," based on the popular manga by Yukinobu Tatsu that is currently being serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+," has been released on YouTube. The song was written, composed, and arranged by Seiichi Nagai and produced by Kensuke Ushio, with vocals by Kisho Taniyama, guitar by Marty Friedman, drums by Chargeeeeee..., and bass by Wakazaemon, and is said to have been produced with great enthusiasm.
HAYASii is a band called by Hoshiko and Manjiro to exorcise the evil eye within Jiji. Although they don't play the typical musical instruments used in hayashi music, Hoshiko says that they have the power to make their music resonate even in the underworld.
Taniyama, who sang "Hunting Soul" as the vocalist for HAYASii, said, "I guess you could say we're being serious but joking around. When the person doing an homage or parody does it in a funny way, it comes across to the audience and puts them off. We do it seriously, which is why people laugh, so I think we're all proud that this song has achieved a certain level of success, from the music production to the singing. For now, we've done everything we can, so all that's left is for everyone to enjoy it to the fullest." "Hunting Soul" will be available digitally on August Getsuku.
"Dandadan" began serialization in "Shonen Jump+" in April 2021. It depicts Momo, a high school girl from a family of psychics, and her classmate Okarun, an occult enthusiast, as they confront one mysterious phenomenon after another. The comic has sold over 10 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired on the MBS/TBS late-night anime slot "Super Animeism TURBO" from October to December 2024. The second season is currently airing in the same slot.
