Actor Elaiza Ikeda and Yojiro Noda of the rock band RADWIMPS co-star in the NHK drama series "The Great Passage ~Watashi, Jiken Tsukurimasu~" (General TV, Tuesdays at 10pm). According to the synopsis of episode 9, which will be broadcast on August 12th, the days of hell begin. Scene cuts have also been released.
The drama is based on Shion Miura's bestselling novel and depicts the passion of the people who work on creating dictionaries from the perspective of Midori Kishibe (played by Ikeda), a young editorial staff member who has been transferred to the dictionary editorial department. Noda plays the protagonist of the original work, Mitsuya Majime, the extremely earnest head of the dictionary editorial department. The series has been broadcast on terrestrial television since June 17th in the network's "Drama 10" slot.
In episode 9, Midori (played by Ikeda) discovers that "Odo Kai" does not contain the "words that should be there." To find out if there are any other omissions, she needs to review all 1 million example collection cards.
It's an enormous task, but Majime (Noda) and his team have only one choice: "Don't let the Odo Kai become a holey boat." As Nishioka (Osamu Mukai) prepares for the publication launch, Tendo (Maeda Oshiro) and other part-time workers join in, and the hellish days begin.
Meanwhile, Dr. Matsumoto (Kyōhei Shibata) is diagnosed with an illness...and the story continues.
