The first episode of the TV drama series "Ensemble" (Nippon TV, Saturday 10pm), starring actress Kawaguchi Haruna and co-starring Matsumura Hokuto of the popular group "SixTONES," was broadcast on January 18th, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 7.6% for households and 4.2% for individuals.
The drama is a light-hearted and slightly sad legal love story about a "realistic" female lawyer, Sena Koyama (Kawaguchi), and an "idealistic" rookie lawyer, Yu Madohara (Matsumura), who take on various love trouble cases and apply the "lessons of love" they learn there to their own relationships.
In the first episode, a popular lawyer who values cost-effectiveness and timeliness, Sena Koyama, receives a request to defend a case involving an engagement cancellation. The client is a woman named Arisa Mitsunaga (Ei Morisako), whose fiancé Takaya Nihei (Akiyoshi Nakao) suddenly ran away during a meeting with her parents.
Sena can't help but think back to her own broken heart eight years ago, but she sympathizes with the client who wants to claim compensation and decides to accept the request. However, Arisa seems to be hiding something... and so the story unfolds.
