Ren Itokawa (played by Minato Masakaki), whose mother Megumi, who passed away last year, was battling colon cancer. One day, she suddenly stopped treatment and passed away a few weeks later.
Regarding the reason for stopping the treatment, Ren's father Goro (Hirayama Yusuke) revealed that Megumi strongly wanted the medical expenses to be used for Ren's future. "If Ren knew, he would blame himself. Ren is a kind boy," said Megumi, revealing the reason for keeping it a secret.
Upon learning the truth, Ren panicked, saying, "What's that?... So it's obviously my fault. So that means I killed Mom!" Goro desperately denied it, saying, "No, that's not what I meant! Calm down!", but Ren broke down in tears and said, "If only I hadn't been there, Mom might still be alive. That's the same as if I killed her!"
"That's not true!!"
The usually calm Hachimura sternly scolded Ren, "I killed him? Did you make this choice to hear words like that? I'm sure you agonized over it, too. You agonized and agonized and agonized more than we can even imagine, and I think you must have made the choice you did."

He looked really cool when he spoke loudly, and it was clear that this was the role that Shunsuke Kazama was meant to play, Shunsuke Kazama is a great actor, the scene where Shunsuke Kazama yells was really good, and the moment the usually calm Hachimura raised his voice and said "That's not true," I cried.
