The 10th episode of the drama series "Light of My Lion" (TBS, Friday 10pm) starring actor Yuya Yagira will be broadcast on December 13th. We spoke to producer Yuka Matsumoto about the highlights and behind the scenes of the filming.
The drama is a human suspense story about Kouto (Yagira) and his younger brother Mijito (Bando Ryuta), who has autism spectrum disorder, meeting a mysterious boy (Sato Ozora) who calls himself "Lion" and becoming embroiled in an incident. The script is a completely original one, co-written by Tokuo Koji, who worked on "My Housekeeper Nagisa-san" (TBS) and the "Ossan's Love" series (TV Asahi), and Ichinohe Yoshino, who will be making her drama debut.
◇Highlights of Episode 10
I want you to pay attention to the scene with Shogo (Mukai Osamu), Koto and Lion in episode 10. In that scene, there was a possibility that Lion might fall during the play, so I put on protectors on my elbows and knees and was supported by the action director, and made my debut in a mini action scene.
Emotionally, it was a climax scene, but Ozora-kun was watching Yagira-san and Mukai-san's movements with great interest, and he had a wonderful expression on his face, inspired by their passionate performances, so I think we were able to capture a great scene.
Episode 10 is also about Yuzuruki (Okayama Amane). Yuzuruki is a character that the script team and the director had been working on together and wanted to portray until the very end, so the episode is full of feelings for Yuzuruki, and I hope you will look forward to Okayama's careful and wonderful performance, despite the role being difficult to portray.
◇ Behind the scenes of episode 9
Last week, I described episode 9 as a bit of a bittersweet episode, but I've received a lot of feedback saying that it was more than just a bit bitter, and I'm very sorry about that!
While we, the staff, were relieved to return to the Komori family home from the pension, there was also a sense of loneliness that was in sync with the story, as this was an episode that required patience, as Kouto and Mijito did not have any scenes with the lion.
Mukai, who plays Tachibana Shogo, received a lot of feedback saying that his acting was "too scary!" However, he accepted the role of a difficult person, and at all times, whether it was his confrontation with Kouto or his relationship with Manao, he kept in mind the balance of the drama as a whole and played Shogo to the best of his ability.
During filming with Ozora-kun, who played the role of the lion, he played with me and communicated with me during waiting time, creating a relationship that made it easy to act. Mukai-san was the complete opposite of his role, and was a reliable presence who always brought a sense of security to his co-stars and the set.
