"Chihayafuru -Meguri-" "Fuki"Jun Saito and "Kenshin" Fujiwara Daisuke already face off! The karuta scene between the two is a hot topic

The seventh episode of the drama series "Chihayafuru: Meguri" (NTV, Wednesdays at 10 PM), starring actress Ami Touma, aired on August 20th. The episode featured a scene in which Kazuki (Saito Jun), a member of the Umezono Karuta Club, faced off against Orie Kenshin (Jun Saito), the ace of the Mizusawa Karuta Club and the number one high school student player, in a karuta match, which caused a stir on social media.

In episode 7, with just a few days until the Tokyo preliminaries for the Competitive High School Karuta Championship, Meguru (Touma) and the rest of the Umezono Karuta Club are finally in the final stretch of practice as they aim for Omi Shrine.

Meanwhile, a TV crew comes to interview the Mizusawa High School Karuta Club, a top contender for the championship. When asked about their motivation for joining the club, the new members say that they had a strong admiration for Nagi (Nanoka Hara) and were overwhelmed by the invitations to join.

Sumire Hanano (Suzu Hirose), an alumna, is put in charge of the Karuta Club in place of advisor Chihaya Ayase (Hirose Suzu). She recalls that Chihaya had once enthusiastically invited her to join, and she sees Chihaya in Nagi, saying, "She's just like Ayase-senpai." Then, she spots an unfamiliar face among the new members, and it turns out to be Riki Yakumo (Sakamoto Aito) wearing Mizusawa's uniform... and so the story unfolds.

Fuki goes alone to pick up Yakumo, who has been captured by Mizusawa, and is invited to a match by Mizusawa's ace, Kenshin. Fuki suddenly takes a card from Kenshin, surprising the Mizusawa members. However, Kenshin sees through Fuki's ability, saying, "Wow... I thought so too. You're good." After that, Fuki puts up a good fight, but there is still a gap in strength between him and Kenshin, and he has his cards taken one after another. Furthermore, an old injury on his right hand recurs, and Fuki shows a look of anguish, but the brass band practice starts halfway through, so the match has to be postponed.

On social media, there was an outpouring of excitement over the "confrontation" between Kazuki and Kenshin. Comments such as "Wow! A sudden showdown!", "These two look like Taichi and Arata", "Right away! Shirano vs Kenshin!", "Taking Shirano by storm lol, he's gotten that strong", "Shirano is growing so fast", and "He's fighting Kenshin! That's amazing!" were lined up.
