It has been revealed that Kensho Ono and Koki Uchiyama will be appearing as voice actors in the TV anime "Captivated, by You," based on the manga by Yamayama Yama, who is known for "Let's Go Karaoke!" Ono will play Hayashi Mira, a second-year student at Kanekame High School who has an eccentric atmosphere, and Uchiyama will play Ema Joji, Hayashi's classmate.
Ono commented, "I previously played Nikaido in a drama reading of the same work, so I feel a wonderful connection with this project and am very happy to be able to participate again. I would like to carefully incorporate Kazuyama-sensei's unique, comfortable, and amusing worldview into the anime and into Hayashi Mira. I hope you will look forward to it."
Uchiyama said, "During the dubbing, we first solidified the characters' personalities and conversations as depicted by Yama, and we went through a lot of trial and error to determine how to best express them. There were many lines that could be said in a number of different ways, so we tried out various things in the studio and felt like we were searching for the right answer for adapting them into an anime. I myself am very much looking forward to seeing what kind of production it will be, so please be sure to check it out!"
To commemorate the announcement of the cast, a giveaway campaign will be held on the official Twitter account, where fans can win autographed illustration cards by Ono and Uchiyama.
"Captivated, by You" is an omnibus that depicts the human drama unique to adolescence. It consists of four stories centered on Hayashi Mira, a mysterious and attractive second-year high school student attending an all-boys school, and four stories about Nikaido Akira, a second-year high school student who makes a "reverse high school debut" in search of a peaceful daily life as a reaction to being too popular in junior high school. A TV drama series starring Onishi Ryusei of the popular group Naniwa Danshi was broadcast in 2021. The comics have sold over 500,000 copies in total.
The anime will be directed by Asami Nakatani and produced by Doga Kobo. It will air in 2025. Kazuyama's manga "Let's Go Karaoke!" has also been announced as a TV anime, which will air in 2025.
