It has been announced that "Fate Rewinder), a TV anime based on the manga by Futa Kimura currently serialized in "Monthly CoroCoro Comic" (Shogakukan), will begin airing on TV Asahi's anime block "IMAnimation" in April 2027. The popular series achieved the unprecedented feat of ranking first in the magazine's popularity polls for 12 consecutive months. Masaru Komura will voice the protagonist Chrono, Koki Uchiyama will voice Shirai, who is hailed as the strongest rewinder and is deeply respected by Chrono, Kohei Amasaki will voice Akaba, a rewinder like Chrono and a promising rookie who completes missions at the fastest speed, and Reina Ueda will voice Lemon, an android girl who is also a rewinder.
Toshihiro Kawamoto, known for "Cowboy Bebop" and "Blood Blockade Battlefront," will be in charge of character design, while Kimiko Ueno, known for "Marriage Toxin" and "Ranma 1/2," will be in charge of the script. A teaser visual drawn by character designer Kawamoto has also been released.
Komura, who plays Chrono, commented, "When I read the original story, I was deeply moved by Chrono's never-give-up attitude. I will do my best to deliver this emotion to as many people as possible!"
Koki Uchiyama, who plays Shirai, said, "I felt that the original work is something that both children and adults can enjoy. I hope that the anime adaptation will help it reach an even wider range of generations. I also felt that there were homages to various sci-fi movies, so I hope movie fans will enjoy it as well."
Amasaki, who will be playing Akaba, commented, "When I had the opportunity to audition, I was thinking, 'I really want to be the voice actor for Akaba,' so I'm truly happy. I will put my heart and soul into playing the role with care. Thank you for your support."
Ueda, who plays Lemon, said, "The PV that we recorded before the main story was very stylish. I'm excited because I think it will be a set full of energy and ideas. I will do my best so that everyone can enjoy the anime!"
"The Fate Rewinder" tells the story of a young boy named Chrono who, with a vow to "never abandon anyone" in his heart, repeatedly leaps through time to save people bound by the fate of death. The anime is directed by Rie Matsumoto, known for "Blood Blockade Battlefront" and "GOTCHA!", and produced by Bones Films. STORY inc., known for "Suzume", is producing the series.
