Singer Ryudo Uzaki (80) and lyricist Yoko Aki (81), a married couple, appeared on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi) on July 3rd. Uzaki shared an anecdote about taking a cognitive function test when renewing his driver's license.
On this day, Uzaki appeared in a jacket and denim outfit. When Tetsuko said to him, "Your hair is so beautiful, it's all white. It suits you well," he revealed, "I used to dye it all the time, but I keep getting roles where I need white hair, so I've decided to stop dyeing it. (I used to) dye it black."
When Mr. Uzaki was 75 years old, he took a cognitive function test when renewing his driver's license. "When I looked around, there were so many people who didn't seem to be the same age as me," Mr. Uzaki recalled with surprise. "But when Mr. Uzaki wrote his age at the beginning of the application form, he wrote it down by 10 years. He was going to take a dementia test, and he made a mistake," Mr. Aki revealed.
Upon hearing this story, Uzaki burst into laughter, saying, "I was 75 at the time, but I wrote that I was 69. I guess I'm stuck in the 'rock and roll' phase somewhere."
