The popular variety show "Detective! Night Scoop" (ABC TV, Fridays at 11:17 PM) features "detectives" tackling bizarre requests and worries submitted by viewers. On July 3rd, the show investigated "husbands who can't laugh properly." Actress Miki Maya made her first appearance as special director, with Takanori Takeyama as assistant director and Saori Masuda as secretary.
The request came from a 33-year-old woman in Osaka Prefecture. Her husband is very kind and devoted to his family, but there is one thing that is causing her serious distress. That is, "He can't manage a natural smile when taking pictures."
Perhaps due to nervousness, I couldn't smile, my face became stiff, or even when I tried to smile, it looked unnatural, somehow suspicious, and I ended up with an indescribable expression.
She's aware of it herself, and every time we take a picture, there's an awkward atmosphere between us. I always wish we could capture her natural, everyday smile. We now have a one-year-old daughter, and I think we'll be taking more and more family photos in the future. I want to preserve these precious memories with natural and warm smiles.
Upon seeing a photo of the client's husband, I found him to be incredibly suspicious; his mouth corners weren't even turned up, and he wasn't even smiling in his wedding photos...
