It has been announced that the fourth and final season of the TV anime series "Dr. Stone," based on the manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), titled "Dr. Stone Science Future," will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and other stations from 10:00 PM on January 9, 2025. The artists performing the theme songs have also been announced, with singer-songwriter LEO's solo project "ALI" performing the opening theme (OP) "CASANOVA POSSE." The band "BREIMEN" will perform the ending theme (ED) "Rolling Stone."
The opening theme song "CASANOVA POSSE" was written by ALI, and the main PV using this song was released on YouTube. It depicts Senku and his friends heading to their first destination, the American continent, in search of a large amount of corn, which is the raw material for the revival liquid to save all of humanity. In the final season, Dr. Xeno and Snyder Stanley, who possess powerful scientific powers, appear, and the final battle of science vs. science, with the Stone World at stake, begins.
LEO said, "It's truly the greatest reward to be able to perform the theme song for another Jump anime based on a Shonen Jump manga. I was able to do this work in a strange way, but I was able to face the greatest pain and wounds in my life and finish it while exploding with gratitude to fate and love for Dr. STONE, so I'm very happy with it (I was also very particular about the CD artwork...thanks to everyone involved). When I finished it, I praised myself, which is rare for me! Hahaha! Anyway, please blow you and me to the moon with your ridiculously loud music today too. Ah, long live music, this is tempting!"
BREIMEN's Shota Takagi commented, "Firstly, this is the first time that we, BREIMEN, have sung an ending theme song for an anime, and we're very happy that the anime is "Dr. Stone". "Rolling Stone" comes from the English proverb "Like a Rolling Stone". In Britain it means that "Those who change their occupation or residence frequently do not gain wealth or fame", but in America it means that "People who are active are lively and do not get left behind by the times". We adopted the American style for our song "Rolling Stone" (after all, the setting of this season is America). This song was created by linking myself as a musician and the band BREIMEN with the way Senku and his friends use science to recreate something from nothing in a world where civilization has been lost, their inventions, and the way the setting of the story shifts from place to place. It was a very intriguing production."
"Dr. Stone" is written by Inagaki Riichiro (Eyeshield 21) and illustrated by Boichi (San-Ken Rock and ORIGIN). It was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from March 2017 to March 2022. Thousands of years have passed since all of humanity was instantly turned to stone by a mysterious phenomenon. Senku Ishigami, a boy with a superhuman intellect and a natural scientist, awakens and, in a desperate situation, decides to search for his friends and take the world back... This is the story. Senku uses science to try to build a civilization from scratch. The comics have sold over 18 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired from July to December 2019, the second season from January to March 2021, the TV special "Dr. STONE Ryusui" in July 2022, the first cour of the third season from April to June 2023, and the second cour from October to December of the same year.
