The 2nd Mangano Grand Prize, a manga award for "Manganno," a manga submission service jointly operated by Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump +" and Hatena, which also operates "Hatena Blog," will be held, and submissions began on November 6th. It is the largest manga award in Japan, with a total of 12 editorial departments from 12 manga magazines and services, including KADOKAWA, Kodansha, Shogakukan, Square Enix, and Shueisha, participating in the judging process, and will be held on an expanded scale from the first award, which had 10 media outlets participating. The deadline for applications is January 31, 2025.

With the catchphrase "More light on hidden talent," all submitted works, regardless of whether they won or not, will be subject to scouting, and there will be a chance for them to be contacted by various editors from 12 companies and 12 magazines. Applicants who are selected for the grand prize will receive a prize of 2 million yen. In the first award held last year, about 250 works were submitted, and 5 of the 11 winning works were published in 4 magazines. Editors who participated in the judging process expressed their desire to work with 42 authors.

Manganno management commented, "In the first contest, we were able to encounter many wonderful works from a variety of genres. This time, 12 editorial departments from an even more diverse range of genres will gather to read your work. We hope that the different perspectives of the 12 editorial departments, each with their own unique color, will help discover hidden charms and help undiscovered talents shine. Please take advantage of this opportunity to submit your best work. We look forward to seeing you!"

To commemorate the holding of the 2nd Mangano Award, a talk event will be held at the Mangano booth at COMITIA150, a doujinshi sale event limited to original works, on November 17th. There will also be a talk event with manga artists and editors who will be judging the manga award.
