To commemorate the 55th anniversary of manga artist Mitsuru Adachi Mitsuru's career, a video has been released on YouTube featuring a collaboration between the manga "Miyuki" and the theme song for the anime "Miyuki," "Omoide ga Ippai," by the music duo "H2O." Adachi's masterpiece "Miyuki" and H2O's famous song "Omoide ga Ippai" have been "reunited" approximately 42 years after the TV anime first aired.
The collaboration video is set to the melody of "Full of Memories" and is packed with content from the manga "Miyuki," tracing Masato's memories of how his heart was touched by the two "Miyukis."
H2O's Nakazawa Kenji commented, "Congratulations to Mitsuru Adachi Mitsuru on his 55th anniversary as an artist. I treasure the fact that I encountered the world he created through 'Miyuki' and had the opportunity to sing the theme song. I hope to continue singing 'Omoide ga Ippai' and that his stories will reach the hearts of many people."
H2O's Akashio Masaki said, "Congratulations to Mitsuru Adachi on his 55th anniversary as an artist. We were also moved and entertained by these two 'Miyukis'! We are also honored to have been given the opportunity to have 'Omoide ga Ippai/H2O' become the first hit song to be adapted into a TV anime series by the teacher! We wish the teacher continued success and go-go (55)."
"Miyuki" is a romantic comedy manga by Adachi that was serialized in "Big Comic" (Shogakukan) from 1980. The TV anime aired from March 1983 to April 1984, with H2O's "Omoide ga Ippai" (Full of Memories) playing as the ending theme and insert song. Parts of the lyrics were also featured in the final episode of the original manga after the TV anime ended.
