The 80th episode of the NHK morning drama "Bakeke" (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and other times), starring Takaishi Akari, was broadcast on January 23rd, and viewers were drawn to the words and actions of Sawa (Marui Wan), who has complicated feelings for Toki (Takaishi).
Sawa is studying to become a regular teacher at the Shiratori Club, a salon on the second floor of Yamahashi Pharmacy. Toki visits her there, but Sawa seems somewhat cold towards her. Toki is curious about Sawa's condition, but while Yamahashi (Tomoaki Emoto), Tsuchie (Maku Shigeoka), and Kadowaki (Yoshida Tsune) are talking to her, Sawa leaves the salon.
Toki follows Sawa down to the first floor, where Sawa returns. Sawa says, "I saw it in the newspaper. It's amazing. Something amazing has happened in town too. Even in the school office, people sometimes talk about Toki..." Toki replies, "It's kind of embarrassing... What's happened..."
Sawa indirectly sarcastically said, "I was worried that it would be difficult to become a family with a foreigner, but...it seems to be going well," and declared, "I'll be leaving soon too. I'll become a regular teacher and won't rely on anyone's help...I won't rely on anyone."
Towards the end of the film, Toki visits Sawa's house, where Sawa's mother, Kinu (Kawai Aoba), comes out and says, "Oh, Sawa? Ah, it looks like you'll be late today..." Toki looks inside the house and sees Sawa's feet. Shocked that she's playing hooky, Toki puts on a smile and leaves a message saying, "I'm rooting for you."
On social media, people were saying things like, "Toki and Sawa are increasingly drifting apart. This development is tough," "Sawa is jealous of Toki and it's complicated, but I can understand how she feels," "It's so real and heartbreaking...," "I'm sure Sawa hates herself for being so jealous of Toki," "I know Toki has his own pain too, but I can't help but empathize with Sawa," "I can't stop empathizing.
